PERSONA

“Uncertainty is the natural habitat of human life”.
So wrote Baumann, the Polish sociologist and philosopher of Jewish origin in his essay “The Art of Life”.

Uncertainty, a peculiar sentiment of modern society, is a constant in human life. When this feeling occurs in the face of a destabilizing event it produces feelings of discomfort, and unconsciously, some more, some less, we react with a defense mechanism that brings us back to reality, to the concrete things in our lives, confining our fears to the hidden corners of our minds.

But when our everyday life is altered due to unpredictable events and our certainty wavers, this is this moment when we are forced to confront our fears and now, as never before, in this specific historical moment, we are facing this emotional collapse.
The Coronavirus pandemic has created a constantly evolving scenario that denies us the possibility of taking control, bringing us to a state of expectation that disrupts the natural course of our lives:we are waiting without knowing when this situation will end.
The Pandemic surprised us, showing our limited capacity to control what surrounds us: assuming we have total control of everything is one of the biggest illusions of our time.

“Persona” in an analysis of the human experience as lived during the Coronavirus pandemic. It is a reflection on the moods that the pandemic has generated, feeding anxieties and fears, making us conscious of our vulnerability.
